Camp Bryn Mawr is looking for several qualified leadership staff for the summer of 2014: a director, an assistant director, a barn manager, and a group leader. Bryn Mawr operates two different camp programs for riders. shell decorations Lake Bryn Mawr Camp is a traditional all-girls camp, offering programming shell decorations in team sports, fine arts, adventure, gymnastics and horseback riding. It is home to approximately 350 campers, ages seven to 15. These girls are full-season campers who attend a seven-week shell decorations session. Bryn Mawr Riding Camp is a short session (one, two, and three week) camp specifically for equestrian campers. These girls receive two riding lessons per day, along with periods of on-the-ground horsemanship and barn management. Both camps are dedicated to teaching shell decorations campers of all riding levels the fundamentals of hunt-seat riding. Leadership Staff would be working with both programs. Our facilities include an indoor riding arena, five outdoor arenas, acres of trails, and a cross country course. The director will be in charge of both programs, scheduling daily lessons and all special events. Some of the duties of the director include training the general staff, communicating with camper parents, planning horse shows, and monitoring the safety of all horses, campers, and staff. The assistant director will work with the director on scheduling, and will also be in charge of tracking camper progress. The barn manager will be in charge of our 36 horses, managing/organizing feed, medications, supplements, farrier and vet work. The group leader will insure the emotional well-being of all riding shell decorations campers. All leadership staff will teach lessons, help with barn chores, and school horses as needed. All positions are full-time, ten week, paid position, with meals and housing provided. Candidates must be able to commit to the entire camp season, from May 26th through August 15th. We are currently unable to sponsor visas for international staff.

We are looking for individuals with experience in hunt seat riding. Of particular interest are individuals shell decorations with backgrounds in hunters, jumpers, eventing, and/or hunt seat equitation. Show experience is a plus, but not necessary. Along with these general qualifications, the Barn Manager and Director need to have a background in equine first aid and nutrition, along with stable management experience.
